How to Glitter Pumpkins & Acorns

How to Glitter Pumpkins & Acorns by Lady Lucas

I'd like to imagine Szilla (the little duck from Linzer Lane who runs the local flower shop) making all sorts of awesome fall decorations for her store this time of year. Glittering items from nature has always been something I wanted to try, and I'd like to share with you the results of my own little crafting experiment (pictured above).

To glitter your own pumpkins and acorns, all you need is regular white glue, paintbrushes, fine glitter, disposal containers and a spoon.

Step 1 Using a paintbrush, coat the surface you'd like to decorate completely with an even layer of white glue. Acorns and small pumpkins are great for this because they have a small handle that you can hold onto easily while glittering.

Step 2 Spoon glitter evenly over the surface of the acorn and pumpkins and let dry on a piece of non stick paper or a drying rack. This is definitely the tricky part, as you want to make sure that none of the glittered parts touch a surface directly while drying. For the acorns, simply prop them up by the 'cap' to dry, and for the pumkins, try using a wire rack.
